Daddy's Day...

Saturday was daddy's day at Riley's school.  Keith got to
go with Riley to see what her day is normally like while she is
at school.  She was beyond excited.  Here is the picture
she made of her daddy.

Tea Parties and Tummy Time...

Today we hung out just us girls doing a lot of nothing.
I put Macey in Riley's room while I made her a bottle.
I heard lots of clinking and snuck in to see what these
two were doing.  This is what I found:

Poor Macey.  I have
a feeling she will be
subjected to lots of this
stuff.

We have been trying to give Macey lots of tummy time.  She has a
flat spot on her head that we are trying to mold back into shape.
She is so strong for 2 1/2 months.  She is reminding me so much
of Gavin.  Gavin rolled at 3 months, sat at 5, crawled at 7, and walked
at 10 months.  Blake and Riley were later than that at everything.

This one looks like she
is praying.  See how the
right side of her head is
flatter.  Riley had the same
problem.

Sweet Valentines...

My sweet Macey Mae brings
smiles to my face almost every
minute of every day!

My girls are the sweetest
of girls!

My little Riley Paige is the
sunshine that brightens
every morning with  her
little angel face.

There is no little monkey
in this world that makes me
as happy as my little Gavin.

I love my little man, Blake.
What a sweet, sensitive little soul.

My boys are the
sweetest of boys.

Birthday Bash...

Today we had one of the funnest birthday parties ever!
Blake decided he wanted to invite his class to Empire Roller
Rink for his birthday.  They have a youth skate from 9-11 which
is for kids 10 and under.  It was a ball!  The parents could skate too.
I skated, Keith's parents skated, my sister in law and brother in law and all
of the kids.  Riley did surprisingly well.  She used these little plastic skates
that basically she could just walk in.  Gavin on the other hand had lots of
trouble.  He couldn't really do the regular skates and his feet would barely
fit in the plastic ones so they kept falling off.  He gave everyone quite the
workout when they took him out.  AND guess what!  Blake wanted me to
do the limbo with him.  So I did.  Mind you I haven't skated for a very long
time.  I went under a couple of times.  I could see everyone taking my picture.
Well it got to the level where I knew I would have to squat down as low as
I could to make it.  I made it under, and then couldn't get back up and FELL!
The man blew the whistle at me and I had to go out.  Riley lasted quite a while
after I left because she was so little.  I had the greatest time and Blake did too,
just hoping we aren't too sore tomorrow.

She never strayed far from the

Happy 9th Birthday, Blakey-Boy...

Today is my Blakey-boy's 9th birthday.  He was very excited
to open presents first thing this morning.  We decided to join the
rest of modern civilization and get him a Wii.  I could NOT find one
anywhere!  Nothing in stores or online, everything has been sold out
since Christmas.  So I enlisted the help of my genius brother, Cameron,
and he found me the last one at a store online.  So the Wii should arrive
today or Monday.  I got him two games and Riley and Gavin gave him
candy.  Gavin has had a box tucked under his bed for about a week now
with a present for Blake.  When Blake opened it, it was one of Gavin's nerf
guns.  Awww, so sweet.  Here is the birthday boy:

The silly boys this morning.  They were both excited for
their Valentine's parties.  Blake was bringing in Dixie Kreme
doughnuts for the whole class this morning.  Major sugar overload!

Doctor Appointment...

Today we had Macey's 2 month doctor appointment.
This is the one where they get ALL those nasty shots, or
so I thought.  Things have changed since Riley was a baby.
They combined four (?) of the shots into one, so she only got
poked twice.  Let me tell you, it breaks my heart.  She let out
a cry that we had not heard yet.  Even Keith looked a little
heartbroken.  He scooped her right up before I could even
get my hands on her.  I got her back though because I can't stand
when one of my kiddos is hurt and I can't comfort them.  Okay, here
are the stats:  Weight:  12 pounds 12 ounces (90-95%) almost at Riley's level
Height:  23 inches (75-90%) much longer than Riley was
Riley at one time was at the 105th percentile for weight.  They have already
said they think Macey will follow suit.  She still doesn't look that chubby to me
but she does seem really long.  I think she looks more like a four month old.
The important thing is she is healthy and doing very well.  She does have some
slight molding  to her head, so we have to start laying her on the opposite side.
Here is Macey before her doctor appointment sitting like a big girl in the recliner.

Smiling at Riley.  This girl
absolutely LOVES her sister.
She follows her with her eyes
and always has a smile for her.
I love listening to Riley talk to
Macey and say the same things
I say to her.  Macey has even
started to laugh a little bit.

Valentine Party...

Today was Riley's Valentine party at school.  She was super excited
since she missed last Thursday (sick) and this Tuesday (snow day).
I wasn't a helper for this party which made me a little sad.  I hate
missing anything like that.  She had a great time and we went through
her bag together as soon as she got home.  Here are some pictures
I took this morning before we left for Macey's doctor's appointment.
There were so many good ones that I couldn't help but put them all up.

Lysol Please...

The past week and a half has pretty much been the week from hell
with all of the sickness in our house.  It started with colds for the
older three.  Blake's went into pneumonia like it does every year.
He missed two days of school.  Keith picked up Riley from
preschool on Tuesday and headed to pick up the boys from school.
Riley said her belly hurt and then proceeded to puke all over Keith's truck.
She missed school Thursday and still is not 100%.  Macey started getting sick
on Thursday night and woke up yesterday morning with a 100.4 temp.  I got
her into the doctor right away and she has an ear infection.  She is on her first
round of antibiotics at 2 months old.  Yesterday was really rough with her.
Today she is getting better, but still fussy.  Gavin just said his belly hurt before
bed.  Dear Lord, please don't let him start puking!  We may make a trip to
Walmart tomorrow for a BIG can of Lysol!!!

On the way to the doctor.
Miss Macey HATES the car.

her sleep!

Big Reader...

Gavin has really taken off on reading the last couple of months.
He has been reading some to Riley.  She adores her big brother
so much.  Gavin's teacher told me today that she had to compliment
Gavin on something and let me know about a "problem" as well.  The
compliment was that he scored as one of the highest on his writing
assessment.  The problem was really no big deal, he just had a
"listening issue" today with his friend Caden.  Gavin's teacher is
perfect for him.  He really does listen to her and adores her as well.

2 Months Already...

I really can't believe our little baby is 2 months old already.
Macey is seriously the best baby!  She has slept the last
week from 9-5 in the morning.  Last night she slept from
10 until 7 this morning.  Her nicknames are still Macey
Mae (Blake calls her Mae a lot), and Macey Rodriguez
(all of our kids have Spanish nicknames).  She is in a size 1
diaper and is almost wearing all 3-6 month clothes.  She had
to have all new pajamas because she is SOOO long!  She goes
to the doctor on February 9th,  I can't wait to see how much she
weighs.  Here are some pictures I took this morning.  My friend
Jessica Hughes made this tutu and headband.

Cutest little behind around!

This one is fuzzy, but I love it!
